I will be visiting participating schools this week now that the scheme has run its course. I have had lots of positive feedback so far and I can’t wait to hear the children’s final views and find out if it has made a difference. I’ve already been told about two autistic children who have identified so much with the main character that they refuse to go anywhere without it!
Wow! how wonderful and so touching! It’s the biggest reward I could ask for!
There will also be a book signing at Ad-Deen Primary School in Ilford on Thursday – so looking forward to it!
This afternoon I had a lovely ⅵsit to Earlham Primary School where I used to work as a Teaching Assistant. Head Teacher Laura Hewer was so warm and welcoming and it was great to see the staff and children who still remembered me! Even better is the fact that the teacher I used to work with – Miss Kirby – my hero and role model is going to be reading ARTY TARDY with a Year 6 class!
What a wonderful afternoon!
I will be a guest speaker at Dagenham Library who are
celebrating ALL WOMEN’S DAY where I will reading
extracts from my books and talking about what inspired
me to become an author.
Please come and enjoy the day – it promises to be fun!
Today I visited Godwin Primary School in Dagenham
I met parents who are writing a book of short stories – messages for their children – my kind of stuff!
We talked about what inspires me, the challenges and fun of writing.
There were tears, laughter and hugs and plenty of refreshments! Thanks Alison!!!
Met so many wonderful members of staff – what a great school and I look forward to visiting again soon!
Thanks to everyone!
On the 24th February I will visiting Godwin Primary School! They are a lovely school in Dagenham and I shall be primarily meeting parents who are writing a collaborative book with the school of short stories. I am really looking forward to it. I will be talking about what inspires me, the challenges and fun you can get get from writing as well as reading an extract or two from my books.
I have also been invited to visit their local library in March for International Women’s Day where they will be celebrating women authors! What an honour – thank you!
